Fogcreeks Co-Pilot looks ok. Though I've not used it I've used other tools theyve produced and always been happy. Its by that guy Joel Spolskys company, he writes the "Joel on Software" blog. The key thing is how they price it......

https://www.copilot.com/

Also the "Secure Meeting" module of Juniper Networks SSL VPNs work well and is the fastest I've seen of all these solutions and means you could host the session in-house, and I think they have an SA200 for only a couple of hundred dollars. I think all the SSL VPNs have something similar.

People would choose this than pay small fee's at places like webex.com.
It's kind of an interesting proposition in that they are considering it but can not allocate resources to work on it. The potential upsell to their current products is pretty much huge considering SupportSuite is about $499 and a remote support app like this could go for easily $1000 to $2000 considering the current price of LogMeInRescue, GoToAssist, and the WebEx product. When you have a potential add on product that is worth two to four times the value of your base product, and is high demand, it seems like you would want to jump all over that.

It doesn't seem like a small niche market to me as everyone and their brother who runs a help desk on their web site wants to be able to do remote support so they don't have to drive across town or spend 2 hours on the phone with their clients who could even be on the other side of the world. In reality, it seems more like a huge market and a perfect fit to add on to SupportSuite.

But then again, look at LiveResponse. It had more features and was quite a bit more client friendly in v2 than it is in v3. Kayako had the fastest LiveResponse program on the market at the time, but once v3 came out, they just haven't done anything to bring it up to the level that v2 was at or enhance the client interface and now it is one of the most feature poor LiveResponse programs available from the client side perspective.

Eventually, someone will develop a program that doesn't use VNC and rivals the performance of LogMeIn, GoToAssist, and WebEx. And when they offer it at a decent price that the small business/consultant/web host market can afford, they will take away the market and make a killing.

And I'll be right there forking out the dollars to buy it as well...

Eddie

I'm probably going with this solution:
SimpleHelp | Remote Support Software for a One Time Purchase with No Subscription |

Its a one time purchase and it is run on your own server. There is also no need to setup port forwarding or worry about firewall/proxy restrictions.

You only need to worry with ultravnc for the incomming connection to the supportdesk... that's all.

We a non profit hosting organization helping churches with websites have this issue all the time.

Having a cms implementation based on Typo3 makes it difficult for some users to get started...

Yugma is an excellent (and free) application.
If you need to share to multiple desktops - then check out the paid solution
otherwise Free works really well.

Load time is quick - and they only need a web browser.

They and you can share either ones desktop

I admit I would love to have this built into Kayako - but for now this works.

Kayako - there is a small startup company that has this application might be worth talking to called Instant Private Networks -

I dont know much about them however

Thats just it, I don't want my staff to have to worry about setting up port forwarding on their routers because they are virtual and can be working from anywhere.

I need a web based tool that is cheap. Logmein is just too expensive but is a great solution.

Simple-help is a onetime investment and allows you to have unlimited connections and unlimited agents. I'm still testing it so I can't really comment on how good it is.

Just rewrite the solution than that it doesn't need portforwarding anymore... it's possible

If this feature is going to be implemented soon please let me know, we are interested in the Owned Licenses for SupportSuite...
Let me be Numer 101 in row to request this feature. I can only 100% agree with the above. We will sit tight and wait for this and a decent AWBS integration.
Interested in more customers Kayako?

Hi Robert,

This thread is not about AWBS integration, but a Remote connection tool.
