I use LogMeIn occasionally and I must say it is a very good piece of software. Only stumbling block is the cost per user. If this could be implemented server side removing the monthly cost using Kayako, that would certainly put Kayako ahead of the game.

In the near future I plan on implementing such a feature into Kayako (owned). We use BozTek to manage our VNC connections to each client and I plan on implementing a link to automatically connect to that machine through Kayako. I am also looking at VNC's SingleClick and other open-source programs that we can use for customers that need help at home or at a location we don't have remote support for yet.

Advantig SingleClick is great, just needs some tweaking. I'll post more when I actually delve into the project. I am so glad we purchased Kayako simply because of the source code. How they survive at such a low price amazes me. Especially when other companies wanted 10k+ a year.

If anyone has suggestions on free/cheap (no monthly fees or contracts) remote software, feel free to let me know.

We currently have a SimpleHelp Kayako Module available and are soon going to be starting a Bomgar Kayako Module.

The only problem is that we have all of our clients on a VPN, so we can just VNC right into them without issue. We occasionally need to remote in to a computer that is not connected to the office's network (working from home or on the road). Bomgar and Simple Help are both amazing products, but far, far too expensive for the amount of use they would get.

Check out www.dolphinhelp.com. Essentially, each employee created their own Single Click VNC tool. It works great and I'm trying to figure out what they used to make it. I don't think it's UVNC's regular SC application.

only thing with that dolpinhelp.com is all .exe files so only Windows compatible so can't support clients on Mac or Linux machines.... With SimpleHelp you can support anyone on Windows, Mac, Linux machines and with Bomgar you can support people on those machines as well as people on Windows Mobile and Blackberry Mobile Phones... While yes Bomgar is really expensive SimpleHelp isnt expensive its about the same cost as a Kayako SupportSuite Owned License.

We're not yet on Kayako, been using sugarcrm, and are debating moving over. Related to this we're using logmein rescue at the moment - great product but far too expensive. I've seen the posts about alternatives and am particulalry interested in simple help - vnc lacks some mod cons like system reporting, apps, processes etc. - and simple help integrates with Kayako thanks to Digital Mayhem.

For those who are using it now, how is it holding up? Have any of you had to stress test it, 100's of concurrent sessions?

Any insights much appreciated.

I would love to see Kayako release an application similar to logmein rescue but running on your own hardware so it is a one off cost rather than $100 per month per operator. Hope this makes the V4 secret features list!!!

Also interested in Bomgar/Kayako integration - 13-05-2009, 08:53 PM

I just saw your post -- we're also Bomgar users, though we haven't done more than scratched the surface of the system.

Very interested in how far you've got with your efforts, etc -- happy to chat in thread or over PM if you like!

All the Best,
-Cedric

I used both Netsupport and LogMeIn and the second one is much more advanced, polished and fast. We're now working with LogMeIn Rescue and not regretting the price we paid because we have to agree that is kind of expensive.
