I would like to see a MySQL backup added to the scheduled tasks in eSupport. This would make it much easier to setup a backup under Windows.

This would work fine for smaller helpdesks but not larger ones as these require command line because of the execution time.

I am against this for the reason that people may think a backup is being taken every x amount of hours but it actually isn't.

I agree with Craig - it causes problems when the database gets bigger. We take a snapshot around midday and in the evening, and the midday one is noticable if you're trying to post something.

You can - though - use a Windows scheduled task to run a backup on the server if you have the GUI tools installed.
