It appears you are storing any and every "file" to the /files folder. This includes attachments to tickets and the downloads we "upload" into the "Downloads" section of Kayako. I ran into this issue a few weeks ago, I went to purge all "files" in the /files folder older than 3 months as they can get quite large with 10 meg attachments! In the process, I killed my Quick Insert...Download functionality because in that same archive cleanup were files used for the Downloads area of SupportSuite.
I suggest you keep all "attachments" to tickets in a /attachments folder and then downloads such as files we upload for our users in the /files folder. The bottom line is that ticket attachments must be separate from our uploaded files. You then need a cleanup routine such as "purge attachments older than X months" so the server doesn't run out of disk space. Imagine running Kayako for five years, a cleanup routine is a must! |
