More keyboard shortcuts - 04-09-2006, 01:00 AM

I use other web based tools such as FogBugz for software development "defect" tracking. Something it has is a snippets system where you can define a key combination followed by a ` which will automatically insert text. I know we have the quick insert menus, but it would also be nice to have keyboard generated quick inserts. Such as TY` would auto-insert "Thank you for your inquiry." PDH` would be "Please don't hesitate to reply to this...." as examples...

System -> More keyboard shortcuts - 28-01-2007, 04:26 PM

I also want to pledge my vote for this feature to be added ASAP. I like to keep a repository of files, both public and private, in the Kayako system. Our general users should be able to download the public files (currently working great) but if a staff member were to login, I'd like him to easily be able to download our "private" files like RDP clients, password lists for our LAN, etc..etc..

Seems like a simple feature to add. Should be a no-brainer?!

Private categories are strictly for ticketing purpose wherein you can insert a file within your reply under:

System -> More keyboard shortcuts - 16-03-2007, 06:28 PM

Hello,

I was initially using Cerberus and then had some problems so moved to Gmail. I have now transitioned to Kayako, but really miss the great shortcuts that Gmail had (with the Greasemonkey Macros script for Gmail).

I know that Kayako has some shortcuts when replying to emails and going to the next email which are great. But would love more shortcuts.

I would love to be able to
* switch between departments
* scroll up and down through the email list and select the email i need to respond to.
* change statuses
* delete messages
* go back and forth between detailed email view and list view

Basically be able to do most of the common features with keyboard commands only instead of needing the mouse.

If I get time I would try creating a Greasemonkey script to go over Kayako, but have not had any recently.

Here is a chart of shortcuts available when using Gmail:

and a full article on how they are used:

Thanks!

System -> Option to disable key shortcuts / configure your own - 11-06-2007, 11:25 PM

I am assuming this to be an intentional feature but it is nothing short of an annoyance to me on a daily basis.

I typically work with the Safari web browser and often have multiple tabs open. Safari uses the key combination Shift + Apple + Left or Right Arrow to navigate through your open tabs. Unfortunately this also then changes the current ticket you are viewing within support suite. This results in considerable confusion on my part especially when checking things in another tab and going back to the ticket I was viewing for clarification of certain details.

So I am wondering if anyone knows of where I might turn off this "feature", preferably though my user control panel/preferences though I don't see it or maybe through the admin panel.

At worst if someone can tell me what this key combination is supposed to be in the windows world I might be able to find it in the javascript files and hopefully comment it out, though I would need to consult my colleagues to see if any of them used this feature before doing so.

Aside from this single niggle, I've found Support Suite to be an absolutely fantastic system to work within.

Hmm, just realised this was a feature of Kayako. Its cool on Windows as it just uses Shift + Left / Right.

It would be cool if there was a setting in the settings area to disable this though as it is obviously going to cause problems for a few people. Have it enabled by default though.

Maybe move this into feature requests Jamie?

Ok, so its not detecting the Apple key at the same time. Maybe if it checked for that, no idea what the keypress translates into. Either that or just ignore the combo for Safari

Thanks for moving it Jamie! Hopefully we will get an option for disabling this in the future. Maybe even the ability to dictate shortcut keys...

If it helps Safari 3.0 (sorry I've not got Safari 2.0 anymore) detects the Apple Key as the event.metaKey.
