Joel,

Can you tell us where specifically this file needs to be placed? That would be very helpful.

It doesn't need to be placed anywhere. Just open it up and follow the instructions. You'll need to modify several files and it goes through each one.

Anyone else who's got this to work, please post. The bottom of my staff CP edit ticket page is just not rendering the template group selection box. Can't seem to figure out where I've gone wrong.

Joel, near the bottom of your file there's a line which reads:

path=modules/news/functions_ticketmain.php

I think that should be:

path=modules/tickets/functions_ticketmain.php

Also, on line 250 you have:

PHP Code:
printGroupRow("tgroupid""Template Group(s)""The template group(s) under which this knowledgebase category will be visible."$typeTGROUP_NEWS$_POST["newsid"]);
I think you mean something like:

PHP Code:
printGroupRow("tgroupid""Template Group(s)""The template group(s) under which this news item will be visible."$typeTGROUP_NEWS$_POST["newsid"]);
I haven't got it working yet, but it's great you've done it. Really looking forward to it working!

Ok, here's where my problem seems to have been: line 250 of Joels how-to file line 250 should be:

PHP Code:
printTGroupRow("tgroupid""Template Group(s)""The template group(s) under which this news article will be visible."$typeTGROUP_NEWS$_POST["newsid"]);
Now we're cookin' with gas! This is great! Why wasn't it part of the original design? Put it in there, already!

So what about this observation you made? Should it be "tickets" or was Joel correct?

Should be 'tickets', as there is no file where he indicates.

It would be a good idea for Joel to edit his original post so that anyone trying this mod gets the most accurate information in one place rather then scanning the entire thread.

Joel - Can you update your original post with Matthew's changes?

Some problems after steps - 12-07-2008, 02:00 PM

Dear Sir

Thanks for the steps, I have followed them step by step and it works to a certain limit but have the following problems:

1) I added news to a 1 group and found to the guest (another group) as it didnt work

2) when clicking on the news to see the details I get this error

Fatal error: Invalid News Item in /home/akram/public_html/vertexfxcom/live2/modules/news/client_news.php on line 102

Any help?

Regards

News Multiple Template Groups v1.0 Build 001 - 30-07-2008, 05:45 PM

I've released v1.0, Build 001 of my code. Thanks for helping me with some path errors and bringing up other errors that you've found. I'm maintaining the newest version of my code in one of my earlier posts on this thread to help mainstream it and avoid confusion.

Please continue to make me aware of suggestions and errors that you find and I'll do my best to address them.

Have fun!

Hey cormac,

None of the files that I edit should be encrypted with an owned license. Can you specify which files you are showing encrypted?

Thanks
