Invisible status - 15-10-2007, 03:57 AM

I need to be able to login to the livereponse winapp, but be "invisible" as far as a livesupport status goes. It would be really useful if there was a "invisible" option in the drop down list for "Status".

Example of this being useful: I am the manager, and dont want to field livesupport calls directly. Or if I want to login after hours etc, I dont want to start getting bombed with chat requests.

Is this possible?

there is no "Invisible" mode but you can just set your status as Offline.

You can use the Visitor Tracking code for Live Support which will not display the Live Support status on the webpage making it invisible.

An invisible status should be added tho so visitor tracking only is possible without appearing online.

I agree. And to add to that being invisible would still allow you to proactively chat whereas being "offline" does not allow this.

Setting as offline also doesn't show active visitors in the tray app, nor will it show you who's visiting if you open it. It disconnects you completely.

I have no use for an invisible mode, but can understand the need for it. Should be invisible to visitors and (optionally) to other staff, though.

There are a couple of ways to do this:
1) Using the Tag Generator, generate a "Text Link" code with the Staff Online/Offline Text description set as:
Code:
<font color="white">.</font>
Assuming your page background is set as white, this would "act" as transparent.

2) Create a custom LiveSupport status image 1x1 pixel in size and replace it with your existing LiveSupport status images. This would be advisable only if you do not already use the HTML buttons to display Live Support status on your website.

Both of these suggested methods would affect all agents, not just him, unfortunately. If I read his request correctly, he wants the normal behavior for all agents except himself, something I don't believe to be achievable.
