Comments System -> Option(s) to disable comment posting completely

Well Kayako have decided the ability to disable commenting will be implemented in V3 so hopefully we will see it soon.

I would like to see a screen shot of Kayako's Help Desk in the Staff CP of the Knowledgebase tab. There is no doubt in my mind that they must have thousands of comments in their system as they are hit by the same bots as we are. We disabled comments in code, but this is just another case of where Kayako doesn't use their own product or they would see the problem.

The desired result is not to disable comments but implement a system that only allows legit comments. Ideas include capcha image verification for comment submissions, require registered users to submit comments, etc. Anonymous postings should be disabled (by permission), on and on. It's common sense, it's something that should have been done years ago. The fact that it is still not done is another fine example of the blind development of SupportSuite.

I couldn't find this in the consideration queue for v3 or v4, but I'd like to add a second or third (actually, probably a 50th) vote for the ability to totally disable comments with a simple on/off option in admin.

I know that I can edit the templates and remove this option myself (I have seen the link to the post mentioned frequently), but then every time an update comes out it will have to be done again.
