To be able to have a group that has a downloadable area that is only viewable to any user under that group.

This would be good for documentation or guides that you create for a certain company and only want those users from that company to be able to download the files once they have logged in.

The files can either be stored in file system or database like they are now.

You would also keep the shared directory on you main support page for everyone to be able to download.

It comes back to what you actually said and I agreed with though Antoine, it would be nice to have it as a feature of Kayako rather than a 3rd party mod.

but i guess that most users won't have time to wait for v4 to come out.. they'll have to stick with the mod :/

It is in the Will Implement in V4 sub board so no, will not make it for V3.

I'm new to this, so I don't know if I'm out in left field, but I think you can already do this. You add a download category and apply the specified template groups with the check boxes. I hope this helps. If not, I'm really curious to what I'm missing.

That would be a "workaround" but is not really suitable if you have 250 customers with all different downloads. If you need to change the autoresponder template you need to update all templates. Also it is important that adding new templates is only allowed in the admin part. We need to have staff members to prepare downloads for customers.
