I'd like an option for forgotten passwords to work in this way: send a user a temporary password, at which point when they correctly log in, they must change their password.

Seems like a pretty standard thing among many other services, would be nice to have for those of us who cannot allow cleartext passwords to be stored anywhere.

+1 for this. I think this feature should appear in more pieces of software.

Noted for consideration for v4. This does not mean it will go in, but this does mean the feature will be very seriously considered.
