Implement simple news categories - 22-04-2007, 10:39 AM

Hi,

Is it possible to add a second or ore seperate news sections in SupportSuite ? The second one can be made, I think, by using public/private, but maybe I need some more than two.

Has someone managed this ?

Cheers,

Thijs

The only way currently possible would be to create another "Template Group" for each additional news section you want. I know this isn't an ideal way to do it but I also feel that it would be handy if we could have multiple news sections. I am going to post a topic in the feature suggestions section about this.

News Sections [MERGED] - 22-04-2007, 12:01 PM

<edit>

Basically, we would like to be able to split the news part into sections and have the ability to post news in different sections. Each one would have a separate news feed but a feed for all would be possible. Each section should have a setting to make it public (ie viewable by all) or private (only viewable by people logged into the helpdesk).

Hi,

This would be a great idea. Maybe you can make a poll about it ?

Cheers,

Thijs

This is a great idea. We would also have to select the appropriate news section that the emails pull the news articles from for that specific template group.

I thought about the following:

Would it be nice to have some sort of "notes" page in kayako that is just a long list of messages you posted there ?

Something like this would be nice to have I think because it's more "blogging" than the newsection.

The way of "blogging" is nice to have if people want to lookup something very quick.

Is there really no solution for this ?

I think this is very wanted.

Or can I make a newssection, not a new group btw, and filter that section out on a page ?

I've been asking for this for years ... I really want to be able to not have to update two news applications, just because Kayako can't split up sections
