Thumbs up The ajax combos still aren't quite right - 11-08-2008, 05:25 PM

Just installed RC3, here is my feedback as of post-install:
  1. I did not have mbcrypt enabled, I saw the "failed" check during the upgrade procedure. I'm using Windows Server 2003, it was a bit of a hassle figuring this out, in order to use mbcrypt you must also have the libmbcrypt (or whatever it's called) which I do have in the PHP folder. I copied the libmbcrypt to the Sys32 folder, still didn't work. I finally added the PHP folder to my PATH variable, rebooted, then it worked, I proceeded with the upgrade
  2. BUG: The ajax combos still aren't quite right. In the main ticket view you cannot assign a staff AND move a department at the same time. I choose a STAFF first and then my department list (move box) has NO items listed.
  3. Feedback: Updating templates is a royal pain, this could be improved by breaking down the templates further, smaller "components" that make up a template
  4. Config.php still isn't named "config-new.php" so you don't overwrite it during updates
  5. Restore a template - there is no way to get back to the template listing without tagging it as modified again. For example, view a template, click RESTORE, click SAVE to go back, even though there are NO changes, the template is flagged as modified only because you clicked SAVE. The <- back doesn't work after clicking RESTORE, you have to use the breadcrumbs to go back and then expand the section you were working in again.
More to follow, now starting use of the help desk.

I'm unable to reproduce this behavior at all. I wonder if there is a problem with your department assignments or something else that is silently failing.

Ryan,

Main ticket listing, check a checkbox for an action on a ticket. Click the staff drop down, select a person. Then the drop down to the left "move" does not populate. See attached screen shot.

Those are the steps I took, but the "move" box was populated properly...

Well, I'm the admin, should show all departments, it shows none as you see.

Another issue now with WinApp. I had a chat earlier today, then somehow my tray icon disappeared! Odd! So I started up LiveResponse again and minimized it. It shows the red X as I'm not logged in but my site shows me as logged in. I exited WinApp yet my site still shows me logged in and available for chat! The site is not reflecting the logon status properly.

Update: I see LiveResponse in the Windows Task Manager so I killed the process. Site still doesn't reflect me being offline. I started up LiveResponse once more, changed my status to "away" and now the site reflects properly. I then went offline, site reflects properly again.

FYI

What if you go the "view ticket" page and then try to change the assignment and department from there? Does it behave the same way?

Humor me: go to the admin CP and check the department assignments for Neal.

All departments show ALL of the time! If I change the user then department list does NOT update. So in this scenario we can lose a ticket because I can choose Eric and then set a department in which Eric is not a member of. So this is a new bug unfortunately.

Confirmed that the AJAX filtering of the departments is not correct still in several places. We're working on it now.

Will this be fixed prior to the Stable release?

Neal, is it my imagination, or did this particular part of the application work as expected before? In the ticket view, I mean.

Am I remembering incorrectly? I could have sworn this was implemented.

Nope, this was a problem in 3.20.02 as well, that's why I jumped on the RC 3 to ensure it's fixed!

I suggested a while ago (to Jamie) that you all always order the combos the same, i.e. department, staff, etc. They should all be in the same order for the same work flow, if not already.

Neal, this should be fixed in the RC4 build: http://forums.kayako.com/f143/3-30-0...ate-4-a-18277/. Please upgrade and let me know

Sorry, reply here. I didn't realize that we weren't creating a separate forum for RC4
