Billing reports and support contract tracking - 08-10-2007, 03:42 PM

We need a couple specific things, and from the online demo I couldn't determine if this was available.

1) How do we run reports on billable time for billing? That information should be shown in one place and easily tagged as 'billed'. Or if there is a better system please let me know where and how.
2) How do we keep track of users who have support contracts vs those that don't? Do you support billing incidents vs timed billing, and other methods of tracking such things?

1. This isn't currently possible. You could run a database query for it however.
2. This isn't really possible either.

One suggestion I would make is to look at http://forums.kayako.com/showthread.php?t=13553 as then you could pre-bill your clients. I think it may allow billing afterwards too but you'll have to ask.

Maybe I am confused then. Why record the billable time if you have no way to do anything with it?

Hi Josh,

I am sorry that you have found the current functionality lacking. It is something we are dealing with - more robust and wider scoped reporting features including reports for billing time.

Until progress is made in this area (there is no definite ETA on this yet), the only way to get this data is to mine it yourself. You may find this thread useful: http://forums.kayako.com/showthread.php?t=11351
