I know we can enable Active Directory intergration via LoginShare. I'm wondering to what extent this intergrates our AD user information into the SupportSuite product.

In looking around the forums I found this in the Modifications forum on an AD import script Active Directory User Import Script so I was beginning to wonder why would one need an import script if there was AD intergration.

I was working under the assumption that the AD intergration would not only permit someone to login to the web portal via their AD credentials but to also then have SupportSuite do an AD lookup when we created a ticket manually and their AD information would be placed into the ticket when their support request was sent via email.

Im looking very heavily at this product to implment here at my location. I manage the support desk at a private college with about 2000 users in our AD.

When a user tries to login to your Kayako installation, they will need to enter their username and password from Active Directory. They will only be able to get in using these details.

Great question! I was initially confused as well. I later found that issues arise preventing users from logging in to the web interface if they have submitted a ticket via email prior to singing in to the web interface. The user import script properly configures all users in SupportSuite.

So this login intergration does not provide true LDAP look up from within the application? With our enviorment we have new users being added to the AD weekly as we add new accounts for new students and employees. It looks like we will need to run the AD script linked in my first message regularly to populate the supportsuite's contacts tables with the current AD information.
