esupport as RMA system and email client? - 15-03-2008, 05:27 AM

Hello,
Just wondering if the following was possible

1. use esupport as a email client: I'm wanting to get rid of outlook and use a webbased system to send out emails, can it be in HTML? Can it perform the major task of what outlook does?

2. esupport as RMA system?

Basically I'm looking for a script that can manage/track the progress of our merchandise returns.

- I want the customer to be able to submit a request online or via phone, issue them a ticket number.

- Admin will approve/disapprove (change status) and giving them details on getting it back

- Admin will receive their goods, change the status to being received and key in the date of it being received

- Admin will test the product and comment on the fault being found or not

- If fault found, Admin will receive a RMA number from the manufacturer which will be keyed in (non visable to customer)

- Admin will key in consignment number and date of the item being sent to the manufacturer

- Admin will notify customer if the goods is being replaced/repaired credited (date stamped) and a consignment note number of the return back to the customer

- Last step would be to keep tabs on the return to the manufacturer

Hello,

I have been using esupport as my email client for a long time ago and it helped us a lot to keep all our projects and leads information organized and stored. Outlook and esupport don't have the same features since they are two totally different applications but you can still use it as a very efficient email client and centralize all your company information in one single place.

About the RMA implementation you can use Kayako custom fields or create a custom RMA tab (you will need to recode Kayako) and develop all the business logic.

I mainly want to replace outlook just for its email features and to better organize our emails so I can follow up etc
Does it do HTML emails?

About the RMA system, I dont need anything too advance, I really just want to issue the ticket number as a RMA number and fill in the custom fields when an event happens

Hi sefuwl,

SupportSuite's mail parser can parse both HTML and plain text e-mail (this is a setting in the administrator control panel). There are some security features that will strip certain tags and codes from HTML content so that any malicious scripts are removed before being displayed.

However, SupportSuite does not provide outgoing HTML e-mail support, nor does it provide a HTML editor to compose them in; e-mails can only be sent in plain text.
