Evaluation Trials & Assessment With Support Suite 3.11.01 On Mac OS X Clients - 24-01-2008, 02:42 PM

Hi,

we are currently in the process of evaluating the above stated product on our internal network and systems, with a view to concluding a license option, in order to facilitate the effective operations of our Service Desk.

A majority of desktop (clients) workstations on our internal networks are Apple Macs running the Mac OS X operating system. Are there provisions for application plug-ins (i.e. 'add-ons') support and drivers for the Mac OS X operating system, on the current version of the Support Suite?

Please advise. I look forward to your kind replies to this enquiry.

With kind regards,

Ejimofor Kenneth Nwoye

None of the addons support Mac OS X. You would need some sort of virtual windows enviroment running Windows to do this.

... would the 'addons' and drivers be supported on a Linux workstation client, considering that most of the Suite's code base was developed using PHP (v.5) and other open standards, supported on Linux backends?

Hi eknwoye, welcome to the forums.

All of our addons are at the moment available for Windows only (and Windows Mobile, in the case of KayakoMobile - offline ticket handling).

Our core software (the web based) runs on any of the major web servers running PHP and MySQL (whether the operating system is Unix based, Windows and so on).

However, we are working on multi platform solutions for the future; but this is still at the planning stage.
