Feature? - Email Multiple Clients/Forums Option - 20-02-2009, 07:05 AM

Hello,

I currently operate a technical support business where one of the major support methods is through forums, currently an in house proprietary forum.

1) Are there any methods to draw in forum posts as tickets into Kayako?

2) Can these forums be kept seperate with a unified database behind them, and invisible in content to each other?

3) Through email support, can multiple domain addresses be used to send responses for multiple clients?

i.e. if customer wants email support from Company1, and another from Company2, based on who they emailed will they get a reply from that specific comapny?

I do not think 1 and 2 are possible. However 3 is possible. You can assign multiple email addresses to a department which will allow you to choose the from address for the replies sent from that department using the drop down menu on the Post Reply page in the Staff CP.

1) Not unless your forum can send email from posts. There are a few forums that can do this, but it's not common. We're looking into the possibility of consuming RSS, but have not yet begun.

2) Yes. That's what satellite helpdesks are about. Alternately, you can use completely seperate installations, and set the table prefix during installation.

3) Yes, but it often leads to confused clients

John do you know of which forums support this? I am trying to find them, but having difficulties.
