fully owned, full source? - 12-03-2008, 03:54 AM

When I purchase the Fully Owned version of eSupport Suite, am I correct to say that it includes the full source code so I can edit it as I please?

One issue I've had with past solutions is that the source is zend/ioncube encoded, not allowing me to make essential changes for integration.

Yes, you will have 99% source code. I don't remember but I read somewhere that there is still 1% core code, they don't release. But for integration purpose, you can be fine with owned license

You get 98% of the source code the other 2% has to do with the licensing system.

Hi dock,

Welcome to the forums, and thank you for your interest in Kaykao software.

I can confirm that the owned license comes with essentially all files unencoded and 'open', apart from those files which are crucial to license authentication.

Okay, so I'll really be able to edit the source and change something if it doesn't work how I want? Is the last 2% zend encoded or what?

Correct. The last 2% is Zend or IonCube encoded based on the build you choose. This 2% contains :-
- Licence Management
- Integration Stuff (ie to make full integrations like ModernBill and WHMCS have)
- Other global stuff to stop you just removing the file (like magic_quotes fixes, cookie management and master template management)

The remaining 2% is encoded in IonCube or Zend (you can choose either). I must note that there are some core functions that are also encoded in swift.php and functions.php, which are core-critical functions.

However, it is rare that you would ever need to modify these and in the case that you do you are welcome to post here and see if we can find a work around
