SSO - Single Sign On - 11-12-2006, 06:19 PM

We are thinking about using Kayako for our support suite. But, the web development guys are switching to Java and moving away from PHP. We think that the two could integrate together but we have to answer one major question:

"Does Kayako support Single Sign On (SSO)?"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_sign-on

Does anyone know the answer to this?

TIA.

It is for integration into an existing login system. The web site / ecommerce engine already share a database for a single login. The idea is that you create an account once on our site and then have access to all areas like: forums, support, shopping cart, etc...

Some other software packages offer this as an option. They have implemented an API of some sort that complies with "SSO" standards. I am just wondering if Kayako offers this? I really like the software and the features and functionality are great. I just think that I'll have a hard time convincing the web guys to go with Kayako if they are unable to easily integrate it with their other software.

Thanks.

You can use the loginshare function for this. Most likely you have do develop your own loginshare-plugin, but that takes only a few hours for an experienced PHP-developer.

But there is a downside. If a user is logged in to one application on your server, he/she has to login again to use supportsuite.
