Hi brewski, Welcome to the forums. While this is not possible if you are participating in a hosted trial, it is possible if you request a 30-day trial license to set up and configure a completely unrestricted installation on your own web server. Should you choose to upgrade, all you would need to do is replace your license file. It will be possible with the hosted trial. You can download a database backup using Admin CP -> Database -> Backup and restoring that.

It isn't possible to restore an entire database on a new webserver and installation URL. Given the choice between hosted or self-hosted, with the aims that brewski has, a self-hosted trial license is the best option.

Hosted version can be transferred to Owned license. You can get a back up of your database back up for hosted solution. This option is not available only for trials.

Out of interest, why don't you have an automated form to get a free downloadable trial but only allowing a domain to be used once?

What about it? There isn't one. To get a trial license, contact our sales department who can get trial licenses set up within minutes.

Oh, OK. Thanks for the suggestion. We have no plans to implement an automated system. For now, customers just need to contact the sales department for a trial license.
