Upgrading Kayako Hosted SupportSuite - 21-05-2008, 05:30 PM

I see that there is now an option to Upgrade my hosted Support Suite service in the members area

Are there any guidance instructions on what/when/how to do this?

I want to make sure that if Im going to have to upgrade, I do it to my timetable and not get forced into it during a critical support period

Hi hmac,

If you have made template customisations, back these up before making the upgrade (they will need to be reapplied post-upgrade).

After making the automated upgrade, go into your administrator control panel and revert all templates that are marked as revert required (under Templates -> Revert Templates); these are the templates which need to be restored to an original version as they have been updated with the version upgrade).

That is pretty much it There is little scope for things to go wrong - but if you wish to be extra safe, take a database backup and perform your upgrade at an off-peak hour.
