KayakoMobile Status Report

For those of you who are anxiously awaiting the upcoming release of KayakoMobile, here's a little information on what's been going on over here at Kayako.

KayakoMobile has now been augmented with code to:

• Send replies to a Ticket
• Forward a Ticket
• Change the properties (owner, department, status, priority) of a Ticket
• Add Notes to a Ticket (both Ticket and User Notes are supported)

This is already implemented in the server-side software, and the client/server exchange of this data has already been tested.

Things that are outstanding (TO DO list):

• The Billing tab in the Ticket window; the User Interface for this functionality has not yet been completed
• PPC2003 menus; the User Interface for KayakoMobile needs to be slightly different when built for PPC2003 because of the lack of WM5 trigger buttons and menu bar functionality.
• Changes need to be made to the way client-side (replies, forwards, property changes, etc.) are deleted; currently they are all force-deleted after they're sent to the server. In the next build (Public Beta 2), client-side data will only be removed once it has successfully been transferred to the server.

Time estimate:

Everyone who knows about software development knows that you take your best conservative estimate about how long it will take you to make something, then multiply by 3, and that's the more realistic timeline.

I expect that we will be ready to supply you with a Public Beta 2 (only testing and bug fixing left before Release Candidate) in 6-8 weeks from today.

If you have a PDA/Pocket PC/Any device that runs Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC edition, you can be a Beta tester for KayakoMobile.
