Adding an extra menu item

Hello

Is it possible to add an extra menu item to the staff top menu to the right of the Users button?
I've looking around the code, but cannot find out where to put this extra button.
The target does not necessarily need to be displayed inside eSupport, but can be a target="_blank" href ...

Any help is appreciated.

I know it's old, but don't more people want this? I have successfully created and installed new module. I can get a staff CP event made, and it works when logged in as staff, however I really need to add a menu item for it to be useful.

It appears to me that this is all dynamically generated, and then displayed with JavaScript. I know that the top menu is created in /themes/admin_default/cpheader.tpl around line 74 (swmenulist =...). I also know cpmenu.tpl generates the staffcpmenuclick.js file you will find in the cache directory.

Any thoughts/ideas anyone? This is killing me!

I need a "HELP" menu item for the staff. I have created a wiki for all staff support- as kayako is highly customized for our company. Now I need to have a help item which will send people to the WIKI.

Any ideas?

Positioning is slightly different than the original request, (appears in the line that begins "Logged In:") but you might want to have a look at this:

Add a dropdown "Tools" menu to the top right menu in eSupport

Why not? You modified code, therefore it was a mod and a brilliant one at that if you ask me. I think that mod will prove to be so useful.
