I'm not looking to actually build a new module, just trying to add a new Tickets page that can be accessed from the Tickets tree menu. By the way, I have been looking at that thread, and it has helped me out considerably. Now i just need to link to my page.

I understand that you just want to add pages and not create a module. However in that thread the developer has suggested how you can add more options in the Staff CP. The procedure remains the same even though you are not adding a module.
