Call display() in each template? - 24-04-2009, 12:25 PM

We want to make our templates more versatile/manageable, so I was thinking about basically moving each template into a file-based template and calling this in each template:

<?php
$this->display('thetemplatefile.tpl');
die();
?>

Would doing this cause any problems?

Not all templates in Kayako are .tpl's. Infact all the templates of the client front end are stored in the database.

The templates stored in the database are rendered by the same engine that renders the .tpl files

I've gone ahead and added the display() call to all the templates and it works great so far. It does have some dynamic to it so we can rapidly duplicate template groups, but the next issue I will have to look into is templates that are used without invoking the front-end interface (going through index.php)
