How do edit index?

I have been slogging through the templates trying to figure out how to do this; and it's probably right in front of my face, but I can't seem to figure this out

You can edit the text by editing the language phrases under:
Admin CP > Languages > Manage Phrases

You can edit the side bar by editing the navbar template.
