Welcome.

Tough I am not sure if someone will use it. Because phpCOIN is a free software and people who use a free software like it, would consider to pay a software like Kayako? If they are willing to pay something, they will buy a superior billing software like AWBS or WHMCS instead of using a free one like phpCOIN.

But having a phpCOIN LoginShare is better than nothing anyway.

You would be suprised how much open source and non-open source software is mixed together. Often and the most sensible approach is just to use whatever suites you best - i.e. we have a lot of Kayako users who integrate with phpBB.

While this is generally true there will be a few I imagine it will be useful for a few people.

That was in reply to nimasdj's post, not yours Jamie. Just happened that I posted just after you.

I personally am not interested in phpCOIN nor use it any more. Because while ago I reported a bug to them and they insulted me instead of testing the issue. I created this LoginShare just for hobby and emailed it to them to put on their download page, but they did not put it there nor thank me, just ignored me completely. as about password encryption format for LoginShare I had a question on their forum but they deleted my post, but I was able to find the password format and create the LoginShare. I see in their forums that lots of users are switching from phpCOIN because of this support policy. So I don't think someone use it with Kayako LoginShare. As I said I created it just for hobby.

Hi nimasdj,

Who has ignored you and insulted you? Please e-mail me any of your concerns and correspondence about the LoginShare, and once again everyone does appreciate you creating it

one of phpCOIN staff. As I said I reported a phpCOIN bug to phpCOIN people. It seems you misunderstood my post and thought I am talking about Kayako Staff! No, please read my post again.

Exclamation 09-04-2008, 08:23 AM

Hello,

Just wanted to ask if kayako staff did add my phpCOIN integration in new version of kayako or are they going to add it? someone please answer me.

The following childish post is what I got from phpCOIN admins instead of thanking me for the favor I did them to create a phpCOIN module for kayako! They even set my forums account to probation status as a "thank you"!
No problem anyway, as I don't care about their childish attitude!

Quote:
In the past, we used to discuss code in the private moderators forum - but this relied on users giving at least 2 hours of their time EVERY day to help answer questions on the forum, and led to them being elevated to moderator status to facilitate the management of the forums and the development and debugging of the code.

Unfortunately, for the past 12 months, we have seen NO indication from ANY user that they are in the slightest bit interested in phpCOIN from any other perspective other than what they themselves can gain from it, and have seen little or no intent to help others. Nor, to be honest, has any user demonstrated a sufficiently in-depth knowledge of even the usage or installation of phpCOIN to be even considered for moderator status.

As a result of this apparent selfishness and lack of interest by the phpCOIN user community as a whole, the decision was made to suspend all development and collaborative work on the v1.x.x code-base with any user or third party developer that was not a part of, or employed by, the holding company.

The board of directors subsequently set the policy; "If you are competent enough to make programming changes, you should be competent enough to read the source code and figure things out".

I apologize for this policy, but we are not in the business of teaching php coding, nor are we prepared to discuss the code (especially the code relating to security) in the public area of the forum. It is for this very reason there is no specific forum dedicated to the development of code.

I trust this adequately answers your question and gives you some insight into the history and politics pertaining to the v1.x.x product and its' support forum.

Please respect that this in not a subject that is open for any discussion.

Rgds

Hi nimasdj,

I will get back to you about this shortly.

Sorry to hear of the response you received from phpCoin; do they have an issue with your LoginShare module? If so, for what reason?

No, there is no issue with loginshare, I tested it and everything is working fine. The only reason is that I was too much more helpful than the VP of phpCOIN in forums helping others answering them about phpCOIN support and people did thank me much more than him, so the VP is envious/jalous with me. That's the only reaosn. He just can't see a more helpful than himself in forums helping others.
