The original owner (i think) is the main programmer, so even Varun should still be able to get things done. The type of bug fixes/changes they are releasing every 6 months is the type of thing a full time developer should be able to fix and thoroughly test within a week.

Thought I agree with you, I believe that if there is a bug, and you have enough knowledge to troubleshoot it, fix it, and test it. Post up the code you used to fix it. Maybe they should open up the svn library to certain users to post bug fixes too?

I know that there will be an arguement that I bought it, paid for support, I shouldn't have to worry about bug fixes, but if you can contribute, kayako should be willing to accept and use supplied fixes.

Usually when software companies move to slowly and dont released promised and essential attributes to their customers, the customer ends up switching to another software or creating their own (which they might end up marketing and being the competition). Kayako is very well known for promising one thing and not delivering on it. Modernbill is a good example of poor project management. While WHMCS isnt perfect, its a great example of the opposite and how people are flocking to it because Matt delivers what he promises and does it in a timely manner.

Hi welch; it is great that you are willing to help in this respect. We won't be opening SVN access or anything like that, but if you do have any fixes you wish to share, do publish them here on the forum and they will be reviewed and committed.

We are working extremely hard to correct problems in our development cycle and quality assurance that we acknowledge have existed - in the past year we have made a lot of progress. Our priorities right now are to clear most of the existing entries in the bug tracker within the next few releases, and look to roadmapping existing feature requests.
