I feel the same way. In addition to the well-done documentation, the code itself is nicely framed in the source files. This makes installation so much easier for people like me who do a lot of modding.

I installed the Attachments mod without a hitch. I imagine this will be quite useful for our divisions who maintain a single point of contact for external clients and would like to keep client company profiles and project outlines in one place.

I just wanted to let everybody know that now that the latest stable version (3.30.01) was released, our team will update all free and paid modifications. Once all the modifications are tested for the latest version I will post here to keep you updated.

SQL error with larger files - 20-10-2008, 11:09 PM

Thanks for the easy-to-install mod! It works great for small files, but is there an upper size limit to what can be loaded? Anything over 1 MB (maybe smaller) gives me a SQL error.

Hi Jenglish.

Thanks for your kind comments. The modification has no upload size restriction, this looks like a problem from your MySQL configuration. If you see the log looks like the database server fails "MySQL server has gone away"

I recommend you to check with your MySQL configuration.

Solved! MySQL max allowed packet value defaults to 1MB.

Just in case anyone else has this problem:

The MySQL server's default max_allowed_packet value is 1MB. You can increase this if the server needs to handle big queries (for example, if you are working with big BLOB columns).

Thanks for the tip jenglish, to avoid this kind of problem we recommend to store attachments in the Filesystem rather than in the database. (See Admin CP settings)

attachment storage - 21-10-2008, 07:36 PM

This problem had never occurred before for me because we store our attachments in the file system. Can your modification for attachments on notes perform the same way? It is currently using BLOBS on my system (not desirable).
