Ability to RSS - These Forums? - 04-05-2006, 02:18 PM

Is there anyway to RSS these forums -- so that all the new posts can be read through an RSS reader?

I second this -- Since Kayako "closes" these posts,

Latest WinApp Hotfix Builds
AND
Latest InstaAlert Hotfix Builds

I cannot "subscribe" to those posts to get email notifications of updates....

And since their blog does not always contain the latest posts... And since there is no official mailing list that I've found... Its pretty difficult to keep up with the latest versions to fix bugs!

Please enable RSS (its a simple setting in the Vbulletin control panel for these forums).

If you can also unlock the two threads listed above. Its like they DO NOT want us to know whats going on, because believe me I'm tryin!

Hello,

RSS and RSS2 outputs have been enabled:
http://forums.kayako.com/external.php?type=rss2
http://forums.kayako.com/external.php?type=rss

To feed from one forum only, add the forum ID number in this way:
http://forums.kayako.com/external.ph...2&forumids=123

You can add more than one forum ID (seperated by commas) to combine feeds from specific forums. For example;

News and Announcements:
http://forums.kayako.com/external.php?type=rss2&forumids=3

News and Announcements and the InstaAlert forum:
http://forums.kayako.com/external.php?type=rss2&forumids=3,35

etc.

The RSS feed works when I added it to my browser.

One bit of functionality for the future that would be useful, would be an rss feed of the changelog.. don't know if anyone else agrees?

The link appears to work here - can anyone else confirm it is broken?

See attachment - Screen shot...

Feeds with DTD's are not Supported.

This is in IE7

"Internet Explorer cannot display this feed
Internet Explorer does not support feeds with DTDs.
Go back to the previous page.
More information"

Also does not work with the new RSS feed/subscribe button in IE7 for some reaosn

I believe this had to due with the version of this BB software and the fact it needs to be updated to 3.6.4 - FYI - 3.5.3 which is running now has some major security issues with it that need to be updated also..

Hi brentwic;

Thanks for your post. The feeds will work with most feed readers and Firefox but as I understand from your report, not with IE7 until we upgrade to vBulletin 3.6.

What does work with IE7, however, is the RSS2 feed - http://forums.kayako.com/external.php?type=rss2. If you wish to add a live bookmark in IE7, please use this feed until the upgrade.

Thanks

Yes - actually the rss2 feed works you just have to click on it and then subscibe via IE7..

Just the easy click one button option does not ...

Well that and the rss only link.
