Thumbs down AJAX drop downs still not right - 20-03-2008, 04:07 PM

I see when I select a department the statuses change, I think the users change, however, you missed one CRITICAL step. When a USER (staff) is selected the DEPARTMENTS need to be set for which this user has access. If I assign User X to Department 22 in which User X is not a member, the ticket is lost! The user will not be able to access it.

Comprendez?

Hi Neal,

I cannot confirm this. Please see if I'm following the steps correctly:

Test Dept Only Staff has access only to the department test.

When I switch to the dept. test:

When I have selected the General department while Test Dept Only Staff is selected, the staff list reloads and jumps to Unassigned:

Jamie,

I view a ticket. It is currently "unassigned" so I choose my staff "Eric". I then go to the departments drop down and I should only see departments in which Eric is assigned. However, I am seeing all departments "I" am assigned. I checked the Admin area, Eric is not assigned "Legal" or "VB.NET Forums" or the others indicated with arrows. This is the critical element, I should not be able to select a department that Eric is not assigned once I change the staff name.

Ok, got it - confirmed. We will fix it in the next version: Kayako Bug Tracker - Viewing Issue #489 - Changing staff does not refresh the department list

I think everyone should get a hotfix - I would have to hate to redo all my templates again just to have this one bug fixed in the next release.

Hi Mehul,

We're not going to make a new release just for this fix, and if we did it would not affect your templates.

If it does not effect templates, might I ask why you guys don't implement hotfixes? It would be nice to be able to fix critical bugs without needing to update to a new build.
