Alerts not working? - 22-12-2006, 03:02 AM

I have set up an alert to send me email.
Assigned tasks = NO.
Scope = Private.
All filters are set to All.
NEW NOTE is checked.

If I understand this right the scope = private means that if I add a new note I will get an email.

The problem is I dont get any email from the Alerts at all.

I do get email from the rest of the system. Like a group mass mail, or if I forward the ticket to my email. So I am guessing the email is setup ok as the other parts work.

Any ideas?

Doesnt send email to yourself - 22-12-2006, 01:35 PM

I found that if I made a new staff person then that person was getting the emails from the alerts just fine. I am assuming then that you dont get emails yourself when you initiate the activity.

That is correct. The software is designed not to send a notification email to the staff user who committed the action.

I have the above problem, but when I log in as another user I do NOT get the alerts.

Are the emails correctly dispatched from your helpdesk? As in, do your clients receive staff replies?

REPLY TO posts are emailed, as are alerts about new replies. I've created an alert to notify me on all changes to all tickets - and I do get ones about new replies, just not about changing assignments. It's very strange.

Please make sure that your templates are not modified or not require upgrade revert. If problem persists then please provide me admin access to look into the issue.
