Thumbs down Alerts and status changes only on login? - 21-05-2006, 12:10 PM

Why do most of my alerts and my status changes only execute upon login? Shouldn't this be something that occurs behind the scenes? If I have a status change rule set to change from medium to high priority if the ticket hasn't been resolved within six hours, why does this only happen if I login to the staff interface? This should be executing in the background. What currently happens is I login and get flooded with emails of status changes or alerts I have setup. Is this something I'm missing or is this just the way it works?

Neil

forgive the ignorance, still learning php and Linux (I am an ASP guy)

the file that you are told to create in the "cron.d" directory...
is that a consumable file ?
does the system gobble it up and delete it or should it always be showing in the directory ?

Hi,

You don't create the file in the cron.d directory, you just add a cron job to execute that file in your eSupport/Supportsuite install.
