Unhappy Anyone have v3 running live? - 30-12-2005, 11:42 PM

Hello,

Does anyone have v3 running live?

I see lots of ads for 'Great work Soft Air' but they all seem to be broken or 'not actually running yet'

I'm looking for someone to do a code customization and look and feel for me but I'ld like to see a couple of running samples first.

Also is there a manual somewhere? I can't find it and no-one seems to answer the support calls since I paid my money

What I'm looking for is someone who knows how this thing works and can get it running for me with some modifications.

Thanks for any tips

customizing it has been a long process. it doesn't help that i have to revert the templates when there's a new build. it would had been easier if every module had it's own template, and the index template be as simple as calling each module into the design frame.

i think this is customization...done further. I still need to work on adding images and making the content css consistent. I doubt i'll make the Jan 2nd deadline this wont be made public for a little while longer, especially since i've been re-doing the whole website.

but that's just an example of what can be accomplished. you'll just need the patience and the motivation to get everything working!

I've had v3 running along side v2 since v3 went into beta. My v3 is not in a production environment yet. It is still missing some functionality from v2 that my clients and I use every day.

Until those items make it into v3 and one of the v3 "stable" builds prove to be stable, I'm still hesitant to go live with v3 in production.

It is getting very close though. Based on one of Varun's recent announcements, I think he is locked in version 3.00.32 and is now working on additional features for the next release. I noticed in the build list that nothing has been commited to the CVS builds for a few days. So, based on that, I again suspect he is working on new features as opposed to bug fixes.

I just put 3.00.32 on yesterday to test an InstaAlert fix, so I do not yet have a good feel for how stable 3.00.32 is yet.

Hope that helps!

Bad question - 02-01-2006, 01:13 PM

I said v3 not working.

One of our techician had installed Kayako... I don't think it had been to hard or long for him to install kayako.

The problem is that v3 still buggy. I'm not talking about too much advanced features.
I'm talking about custom fields for instance. When creating tickets, have you ever succeed to make a custom field optional ?... there are always mandatory. Too bad!

I had someone else install mine and it works fine. Unless one is really good at coding, going that route is the best.

I'm using v3, have been for about 2 weeks now. Went straight to it actually. Set-up was fiddly, and I got a few things wrong, but (contrary to other's experiences) Kayako tech support fixed them up for me, usually within 24 hours of my reporting them. Everything seems to be working smoothly for me now, but being all by myself I definitely don't use a lot of advanced features, and I only customized a very few things.

There is a manual for setup, it's pretty good. It would be very nice if there was also a manual for the staff side. I'm told they're working on it.

I am using 3.0.32 stable with some custom fields too. In general it works well, enough that we can operate in some fashion or figured out work arounds. They're close, I have a feeling, even if we haven't seen a soul here from K in more than a week.
