Attachment Restrictions - 06-05-2007, 12:24 AM

I've set up the attachments that I want kayako to allow into the system but when I test it by attaching a file from within support centre that is not supposed to be allowed, it still gets added to the ticket. Is there a setting I'm missing. There was nothing about this in the manual.

If an attachment gets blocked does the user get an autoresponder informing them that it was blocked?

Hi Siora,

The attachments restrictions set under the Mail Parser are for the Mail Parser only - as in, it only restricts attachments coming in by e-mail.

I'm speaking of the attachment restrictions that you find under the tickets settings within admin CP. The manual specifically speaks of the support centre as well as emails.

Have you set the following setting to yes?

"Restrict Incoming Attachments to Custom Attachment Types
If Enabled, Only the Attachments that match the extension in Custom Attachment Types under Tickets > Attachment Types will be accepted into the system."

It is in Admin CP -> Settings -> Tickets.

Yup, this has to be enabled before you can even add extension types. I've enabled it and added a few extensions but kayako is still accepting different extensions into the ticket.

Hi Siora,

Probably best to submit a bug report about this.

The same situation with the following settings on 3.00.90:
Allow Users to Upload Attachments - NO
Restrict Incoming Attachments to Custom Attachment Types - YES
List of allowes attachment types is empty. But if I send an email to SupportSuite with attachment a ticket creates with attachment also. How can I exclude attachments at all from incoming tickets which were sent by email?

The search function on the tracker is currently broken; could you post the bug ID for us?

Found it using site:bugs.kayako.com - good idea, Craig.

Kayako Bug Tracker - Viewing Bug #59 - Attachment Restrictions - yes, it appears to have been fixed in the latest stable.
