Attachments foobar'd as e-mail attachments (3.0.80) - 28-04-2006, 07:52 PM

When a customer submits a support ticket with attachments, particularly zip files, they are corrupt or empty. The only way to get them is via the Staff CP. I also noticed that if we use IIS6 HTTP Compression that you can't download the attachments from the Staff CP either, I have disabled HTTP compression and now I can get the attachments via the Staff CP only.

Hi,

The issue with attachments has been fixed in the CVS builds.

Neil,

The CVS notes reference Staff Replies. This is a new user/ticket coming in with an attachment. The New Ticket e-mail I get with the users attachment is corrupt or empty.

I also find it odd that when I download by clicking the attachment in the Staff CP that I don't get a download progress bar in IE. But it does download fine via the Staff CP as long as there is no HTTP compression enabled in IIS6.

Hi,

The CVS build resolved the issues with both new client tickets as well as the staff replies.

Has this been fixed in 3.00.82 because I have the issue too. When I download a word doc, for example, from the Staff CP side, I get:

<br />
<b>Warning</b>: fopen(./files/attach_1754714aaf7a1d7b28cbdcedd58be14d): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in <b>/home/*mydomain*/public_html/modules/tickets/functions_attachments.php</b> on line <b>214</b><br />

Bump because I'm really having an issue with this. My word docs, etc. are all corrupted and come out as these three line wonders.

I've just tested it by uploading through the support center and it works. It has to do with the parsing of the email, I guess. Ideas?

Update with some debugging - 10-06-2006, 08:19 PM

The problem is coming from ghost copies that we have to circumvent the cpanel piping issue. We use the ghosts [not for web] but just for forwarding.
In other words, when an attachment is sent to the helpdesk domain's emails, no problem. When uploaded through the support center, no problem. The corruption only happens going through the ghost copies.
Any ideas??
