Me too. One of the reasons we went with this system (besides the price) was because it said I could track my Billable time. That feature is absolutly useless if I can't get some form of a report out of the system.

Billing Features - 26-10-2006, 08:31 AM

I have just done a search through the forums and there is plenty of people asking for billing reports which show the time billable to each company/client.

I have also seen other billing features promised - apparently coming in 2.3 then in 3.0 and still they are not hear.

We are looking at switching to kayako but until we know that it has billing features why would we move?

Can managament let us know when these features will realistically be here?

This issue is important; it would make sense to make a reporting module. This way there are no predefined reports; this is just a series of tools to assist in creating custom reports.

Also, if the business case requires reporting grab crystal reports and run it against your DB; you will still be able to generate what you need.

Billing unusable - 14-12-2006, 03:53 AM

Billing in ticketing system has been provided just for the sake of providing it.

How can we enter time worked when we create the ticket itself.and Say you are working a week on the ticket and every day in the week you work for 8 hours or at the end of the week you go to billing tab and say total time worked then customer asks whatdthe description of the work you did on 3rd day every hour,

If we put time worked every time you post a reply .say you put time worked as 120 mins then billable is 120 units. If you want to customize billing then you need to use billing and say there how much you charge for time worked there.

I dont know what bill date will do there

Question Billing Time - 04-07-2007, 04:09 PM

I may have overlooked this, but is there a way to get a report of tickets and time that has been attached to the ticket on a monthly basis?

afaik, the only way is to get it from the db with sql

Reporting is an area of the app that could use a real boost.
v4 is supposed to correct this deficiency.

Features I need asap:
1) Ticket search in the client portal!
2) Column display in client portal showing clients email address or name
3) Downloads by client
(i.e. - each client has their own download area and can't see/touch downloads for any other client.) This would be on top of a "public" download area.
4) Integrated KB image uploads
The ability for staff to upload images with a KB articles.
Cheers!

illing Reports - 08-08-2007, 06:54 PM

There are two problems with creating billing reports:
1) How do you group all the tickets to each client? Creating a group ID will work - but you are always getting new users creating a management fiasco
2) Even AFTER you can pull the time report, there are no columns in the swtickettimetrack table to show that the specific time entry has been billed out.

If you look at this thread:
http://forums.kayako.com/f52/billing-reporting-sql-queries-inside-8103-post49442/

I have created SQL reports that run via a CRON job that email an HTML file to our staff that provides a great summary.

But moving forward, reports and the ability to check off WHAT has been billed would be killer!

I created some custom reports using SQL queries in MYSQL that email via scheduled CRON job. I have it all posted here:
http://forums.kayako.com/showthread....8924#post58924

I hope this is a good enough solution unitl Kayako rolls out a Schedueld billing and reporting feature.
