Blank pages on Installation - PHP5 - 12-01-2007, 11:29 AM

I just installed our owned license of Support Suite and get blank pages when I try to install it.
SupportSuite 3.04.10 Stable for IonCube.

We are using Apache 1.3.33 with PHP 5.1.4 on a Mac OS X Server machine. Zend Engine v2.1.0, with the ionCube PHP Loader v3.1.14.

I have a feeling that SupportSuite is not compatible with PHP5, is this correct?

Its a huge problem since I can't downgrade to PHP4!

Kayako works fine with PHP5. Check your Apache error_log for any reported errors.

Thanks. I turned on "Display_errors" and got this:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in /Library/WebServer/Documents/support.99.se/supportsuite/includes/SmartyLight/class.template.php on line 351

Im re-uploading everything again!

I've done that twice now. I am re-uploading the whole .tar to the server and will install it using SSH. Should solve the problem if its upload-related.

I uploaded the whole .tar but still the same error:
http://support.99.se/supportsuite/

This is my phpinfo: http://support.99.se/phpinfo.php

I did a bit of Gooling and found that others have similar problems with this file: http://www.digitalrev.com/support/en/

Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated - argument passed by value; If you would like to pass it by reference, modify the declaration of [runtime function name](). If you would like to enable call-time pass-by-reference, you can set allow_call_time_pass_reference to true in your INI file. However, future versions may not support this any longer.

I turned on allow_call_time_pass_reference but to no avail.

I am quite certain the error is in the way you uploaded the files. I suggest you use a popular FTP software like CuteFTP or BulletProof FTP.

Nope - i talked to Kayako support and got this reply:

"Please switch short_open_tag = On and it shall resolve the issue" and that made the problem go away.

Unfortunately after installation im getting this problem instead when logging in as staff or admin:

"Fatal error: Unable to execute core in /Library/WebServer/Documents/support.99.se/includes/functions.php on line 850"

I changed the config.php with the following:

define("SWIFTCUSTOMPATH" to my installation folder and it seems to be working now.
