BUG: Safari Windows Predefined Reply - 30-08-2007, 02:37 PM

I am trying to perform a Ticket Reply using a Predefined Reply and I receive this message when selecting a predefined reply:

Safari can’t use JavaScript for this action.
Safari can’t run the script “javascript:void(autoInsertPR(19));” because Safari doesn’t allow JavaScript to be used in this way.

It appears that Safari does not support the way Kayako is using JavaScript to update the ticket reply text.

Please let me know if you need any additional information to reproduce this problem.

Cliff

Safari on Mac or the Windows Beta?

Either way, submit it at http://bugs.kayako.com and then post a reply linking to the bug to tie the two together.

Safari Windows Beta so far. I have not had a chance to verify it on a Macintosh yet.

Thanks,
Cliff.

Just installed Safari beta and all I can say is "yuck!" lol.

Anyway, for me I don't receive an error but it creates a huge white space at the bottom of the browser. See the attachement.

Safari is an ugly S.O.B. but millions of people use it everyday... and using the Windows version is a lot cheaper way to test your software "on a mac" than actually having to fork out money for one of them (which I recently did but now sort of regret).

It isn't an ideal way to test what it will be like on Safari Mac actually as they use different layout engines (not direct port).

I get the javascript error on Mac on either Safari, Firefox or Opera so, I'm guessing, it's Mac related? We need to dig through this and find the problem. I have fifteen people working the helpdesk on Macs.

Submitting it to the bug tracker would be the thing to do -> http://bugs.kayako.net

I don't have a Mac so can't test it but I think the devs have an internal one (or so I remember somebody saying).

Remember to post a reply linking to the bug in the tracker to tie the forum topic and bug tracker issue together.

Developers check the bug portal more than they check the forums which is why you should post it there.

This is correct. I will ensure the bug is looked at quickly as it could be a big a big problem for people already using Macs to access their SupportSuite.

It has been assigned to Mahesh so shouldn't be too long. Kayako do not give dates for things like this tho.
