Question Can Delete Ticket Views - 29-11-2007, 01:59 PM

This permission in the admin for groups is a bit confusing, or lacking what it really needs. Ticket views can be created Public or Private, yet there is only one "global" permission it seems. I'm trying to keep my staff from deleting Public views. We need a permission to prevent deleting public views but naturally private views can be deleted as they are for the specific user.

Can you confirm the permission "Can Delete Ticket Views" is applying to Public ticket views?

I just tested it, and yes, it applies to PUBLIC views. If this permission is enabled for the group, the users can delete any public view.

I haven't tested this, but if I set it to NO, will they not be able to delete PRIVATE views?

That's correct; I just tried it and it won't let you delete a PRIVATE view either. I suppose that's why the setting doesn't specify which type.

I'll put a note in to make these 2 separate options.

I fixed this issue and pushed into CVS build.
Affected file: modules\tickets\staff_views.php

- There is no need to add new setting “Can Delete Private Ticket Views”, Now, User is able to delete his Private View even “Can Delete Public Ticket Views” is disabled.
