Can I increase the file upload size settings? - 25-01-2008, 01:29 AM

Hi . . .

I have been working on Help Desk and was uplaoding files for the
downloads section and recieved this error: ERROR: This file is too
large. The upload_max_filesize set in the php.ini (PHP configuration
file) is set lower than is needed.

Can I change this so I can put files on-line up to 40 meg. If there
is a no limit option that would be good as well. How do I change that php.ini file and where is it located? Can I change that in the admin area?

thanks,
Daniel

You need to change the following settings in your php.ini file:

max_execution_time = 600
memory_limit = 128M
post_max_size = 100M
upload_max_filesize = 80M

It depends server to server. Create a PHP info file (Creating a LoginShare) and you can use this to find the location on your server. You must restart Apache after you edit this file tho.

If you are on shared hosting, ask your host's support department to do this.

Thanks Craig,

There are certain areas I cannot get into so I will need my host to do this.

Big downloads don't work ? - 26-01-2008, 03:51 PM

Hi,

Big uploads (40mb) take a long time before they begin to download, and while downloading Firefox or IE stop downloading after +/- 8Mb...

Anybody any ideas ?

Vince

Hi Vince,

Do you store your downloads in the database, or the files directory?

I use the upload functionallity of the SupportSuite (I do not upload them manually). Looks like it is stored encrypted in the files directory.
