Can Kayako Be Used for Project Management And A CRM Tool? - 29-08-2006, 11:44 PM

Hello Friends,

I am wondering if the Kayako application can be used for both project management and customer relationship management.

I have a owned license and I am wondering if I can get more out of it. If there is anyone out there using it for either one of these 2 tasks, please share your ideas.

Thanks!

We tried using it as a PM tool, but we migrated to Basecamp and then finally over to Copper. That has fit our needs perfectly and price was right.

We have then done an integration of Copper and Kayako into Joomla and have a loginshare so clients can navigate all of it seamlessly.

Working With Kayako - 25-10-2006, 12:14 AM

Love kayako.. brings us closer to where we want to be.. but still looking at customizing to handle creating work orders, tracking work timelines and due dates on calender, project management etc. Copper looks interesting. What did it take to get the two to work together?

Really just for us we did a login share. That way people got the permissions we need. Installed side by side on the same server.

free http://www.zentrack.net/ has project management on the top of tickets system.

Project is the ticket with special type and sub-tickets.
The idea is good, but interface design is not so good as in kayako.

May be kayako can do project management in this way... In this case - kayako - will be exellent choyse for small-medium web-studio.
As I see from web-site - kayako do not have this type of project managemnet, just to-do without relation to project. I also can not find demo of staff CP of kayako.

We were using Netoffice, which is php/mysql and open source so easy to modify.

We just gave it up though, were using Kayako as our TM, basic i know, Kayako already has ability to log the billable time, and we created a "employee paid / client billed" status. The developers move tasks to "closed" when they complete them, then accounting moves them from closed to "employee paid / Client Billed" when they bill the customer and log the employees time in the time sheet.

Ill probably go ahead and get a few of my programmers on moding Kayako to allow for Master Ticket (project) and slave ticket (project task). We just got Kayako two weeks ago and were sure to buy the non branded ooption to get the most source we could get access to out of it.

Maybe in about 30 days ill have something to show you guys.

Hi Eric,
If you can share the LoginShare for Copper then that would be great. I know lot of people would be interested for it.

Clifton,
You can also ask your Programmers to look into the possibility of creating custom modules, no one has yet harnessed the true power of the SWIFT core.

Thanks.

Regards,

Varun Shoor

Anyone have any updates on a Project Management Interface that works with or might be implemented by kayako?

i am really looking for something that is a bit more in depth yet interfaces with Kayako since I already use it...
