Can not add staff member (supportsuite.3.11.01) - Kayako

The Insert Staff function does not work. I can not add new staff members through the console. The only staff member that gets successfully inserted is the one created during the product setup process.

My PHPINFO is at http://livesupport.novahost.com.au/test.php

I have also wiped the database and done a fresh install and it doesn't work.

You need to edit your MySQL ini file i.e. my.ini and set strict-mode to:

strict-mode = ""

Restart your MySQL server after making the changes and it should fix the issue.

You might want to consider adding this "fix" to the installation guide for SupportSuite, since the recommended setting that ships with MySQL is "strict mode".

Just spend 1½ hours on locating and fixing this exact problem...

Yeah I guess they should add a section called "Troubleshooter" and add the most common issues in the manual.

I just had this problem it was quickly corrected but please note it is

sql-mode = ""
NOT
strict-mode = ""

certainly that is the case in mySQL5

why - o why - o why - is this like so many other "tweaks" i am encountering not listed in a FAQ page?

Jamie is currently working on a Wiki which should be good for users to be able to add all these things to.
