Hi,
Follow-Up basically allows you to schedule a set of actions for future. Like there are quite a lot of instances where we reply to clients saying we will get back to them with more details in 5 days, using Follow-Up we can make the system Open the ticket automatically, change the priority to Critical and even add notes or reply to client. The possibilities are endless, You can use it as Reminders or you can use it as a "crude" escalation or notification feature.
You will need to make sure that you have cron/index.php being executed every 10 minutes to make sure that all Follow-Up and Escalation actions are carried out without a hitch.
