I have the same problem for a couple of days now.
I created a support ticket on 03-04-2008 with the ticket ID VKS-547851.
Raghav Arora helped me but still didn't found a solution.

Have you modified the software source code?

No modification of source
I have modified template groups but even the default template has the same problem.

Also unable to add comments - 12-04-2008, 06:22 AM

I have also been unable to add comments.
This has occurred on a kayatotrial.com site.

A help desk ticket was raised:

Support Center » Knowledgebase » test article
>> Add a Comment
>> "this is a comment"
>> Submit

In both IE7 and Firefox2 the comment is not added.
DEBUG shows... line 137 (FN.value) Object Required

function ValidateThenPost() {
var FN = document.getElementById('fullnameinput');
var CA = document.getElementById('commentarea');
if (FN.value == '') { FN.style.backgroundColor = '#ffcccc'; return; } else { FN.style.backgroundColor = '#ffffff'; }
if (CA.value == '') { CA.style.backgroundColor = '#ffcccc'; return; } else { CA.style.backgroundColor = '#ffffff'; }
document.getElementById('commentform').submit();
}

Hi there,

I'll look into the problem; it may be a bug.

@t_h_048d3 - Were you testing with ideographic languages, or just plain English?

Hi guys, I resolved this bug.
All you have to do is modify the template General -> Comments.
Find this piece of code:

Code:
<{if $_USER[loggedin] == true}>
  <tr class="smalltext">
    <td><{$language[cmname]}><BR /><{$_USER[fullname]}><input name="fullname" value="<{$_USER[fullname]}>" type="hidden" /></td>
    <td><{$language[cmemail]}><BR /><{$_USER[primaryemail]}><input name="email" value="<{$_USER[primaryemail]}>" type="hidden" /></td>
  </tr>
  <{else}>
and replace with:

Code:
<{if $_USER[loggedin] == true}>
  <tr class="smalltext">
    <td><{$language[cmname]}><BR /><{$_USER[fullname]}><input id="fullnameinput" name="fullname" value="<{$_USER[fullname]}>" type="hidden" /></td>
    <td><{$language[cmemail]}><BR /><{$_USER[primaryemail]}><input name="email" value="<{$_USER[primaryemail]}>" type="hidden" /></td>
  </tr>
  <{else}>
in red the fixed code.

Have a nice day ;-)
