Changing the templates and other questions

I have two questions.

First, what is the file/template called that I would need to edit in order to change the format of what is displayed when you select a ticket and go to options and hit print ticket? I would like to like to display different data then what is displayed by default.

My second question is, I'm trying to add a link to the footer template, but no matter what I do, the changes don't take affect on the actual pages themselves. The same thing happens on every other template. My question then is, how do I modify the template and have those changes actually take place?
