29-06-2007, 03:54 AM
I have recently updated my spanish language transation on my 3.10.02 install. I used the file from the official "SupportSuite language packs in one thread here", posted at: SupportSuite, eSupport and LiveResponse language packs in one thread It was intended for the 3.04.10 version (probably a moot point as I had been using an translation from a much earlier version with out any issues.) If I import this language .xml file with the encoding set as ISO-8859-1 (the default) I have strange characters that appear in place of accented letters. (eg: ¿Qué cámaras digitales sugieren?.) If I change the .xml language file to UTF-8 and re-import it, it gets better but there are still errors. You can see it live here (as I left it): http://www.cdiimaging.com/esupport/?group=cdispanish I see many posts but no definitive answers on encoding issues and have been sufferring thru for awhile. Any help appreciated, MIke P.S. Now, I can correct it manually editing each phrase within the admin panel but it's painful.. |

You could try submitting a ticket (http://support.kayako.com) linking to this thread. The forum is not a guaranteed method of support. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

I was looking for any other users that have a fix for a seemingly ongoing issue. Mike BTW. Are you saying that if I signed up for the Kayako support plan and submitted tickets that I'd would have a guaranteed method of support? Sign me up. Ohhh?? I did that already..(see the attached). Any other users that have a better answer? I've attached an image of the issue. Any help is appreciated. I'll reciprocate if I can. | |

Yes, I realise that Kayako point to the forum a lot but you will not always get a response here unless your problem is known by other users. On Kayako's Help Desk you will always get an answer. You must have an active support / updates contract to get the support though. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |
