I'm using Kayako successfully w/ my own hosted email however I'm considering a switch to Google Apps for Domains and using their hosted email. Has anyone figured out how to make this work with Kayako? Is there official support for this from Kayako?

It's pretty much the same stuff. Connect over IMAP and you're good to go.

Kayako does not support Google Apps for sending mail via SMTP. As long as you can send your emails using PHP's mail() function, you'll be fine.

The only problem with using that mail() function though, is that your emails will likely have more chance of getting flagged as spam.

Intel: er, we support sending by SMTP just fine. Why would that not apply to Google Apps?

Hi John,

It appears Google Apps use SSL for their SMTP connections, which your Support team said was not supported in the latest version of SupportSuite. I tested it and it doesn't appear to work, unless there is something severely wrong with my configuration (which may be likely).
