Angry Constant complaints about login problems - 21-09-2007, 01:57 PM

I have never had a software product where I get so many complaints about login problems. People use the forgot password link to have their information sent to them and they still can't login. You all need to completely investigate your login system, make sure the e-mail address is NOT case-sensitive and get this issue resolved. You cause more frustration for everyone.

We still have the status being changed when the department is changed, when is this going to be fixed?

The hover info on a ticket still renders HTML, I thought that was supposed to be fixed?

How about getting another stable release out ASAP and fix these problems that take a matter of minutes to fix, I know, I'm a developer, and I cannot believe the stuff you fail to fix!

Still having customers with login problems where they have to enter the information lower case. Either lcase it in code or do something to make the login experience more reliable. Is there a fix?

Hi Neal,

Firstly, sorry for missing the original thread. If your users are encountering such problems, please submit a support ticket so we can take a look - we haven't had any simmilar reports of login problems.

What version are you using?

Hi Jamie,

I tell users now what was posted above, that username (e-mail) is not case sensitive but password is. Would be nice to have this confirmed as this continues to be an issue, but entering in all lower case often is the answer. I personally would prefer that username/password not be case sensitive, I don't think this is the norm for web based logins. It is a stronger security, but not sure if its necessary.

Hi Neal,

Usernames (e-mail addresses) should not be case sensitive, but passwords should be - if some of your users aren't observing that then do submit a support ticket so we can check things out. You're welcome to send me the ticket ID so I can oversee it.

Thank you,
