Custom Field Doesn't Work!! - 14-02-2007, 05:13 AM

1. We set a custom field to be staff editable only, and it still shows up on the front end, editable by the user.

2. There seems to be a bug somewhere in the custom fields code. We added a custom field and it wouldn't show up on the front end. If we switch it to another custom field group, sometimes it would show.

But after deleting it, and then adding the same field again, it shows. Very random, and the problem doesn't even occur with every custom field we add.

3. If you transfer a ticket from one department to the next, custom field group that is bind to the new department will not attach while the custom field from the old department would still remain intact.

Also Custom fields need the following functionalities:
-Include the content of the custom fields in the email to users?

I confirm point 1. And given the content of cfrender (the variable for custom fields) it cannot be solved as is. As far as I checked, there is no customfieldcache...

Another thing is that the kayako name for custome fields is not compliant with javascript naming (may start with a digit), which may cause the other issues you met.

We have the same problem with a custom field that does not show in one department but does in an other. No matter what we do. We are on version 3.10.02

Unhappy Mine don't save - 06-04-2007, 02:45 PM

I can get the custom fields to show where I want them, but they will not save the information...

As a user, I click "Update" and the fields go blank. I edit it from the Staff CP, click "Update" and it returns me to the user list. If I look up the user again... the fields didn't save. Really annoying.

Anyone else run into this problem?

If it helps, I am using 3.00.90 (plan to upgrade to latest stable version today since it'll be a light user load) and our support site is:

support[dot]icslearninggroup[dot]com

You can set up a user account, edit the account and you'll see the custom Company fields:

--Company----------------------------
| Company Name:
| Phone Number:
| Phone number (secondary):
---------------------------------------

None of those fields save the data.

I didn't see anything in the bug report or Knowledge base about this issue, so I assume it is my version or setup. Shall I enter a ticket or has this already been answered elsewhere that I missed?
